چکیده

In this section we will look at the Fresnel diffraction for both circular apertures and rectangular apertures. To help our physical understanding we will begin our discussion by describing Fresnel zones. In the study of Fresnel diffraction it is convenient to divide the aperture into regions called Fresnel zones. Figure 1 shows a point source, S, illuminating an aperture a distance z 1 away. The observation point, P, is a distance to the right of the aperture. Let the line SP be normal to the plane containing the aperture. Then we can write The aperture can be divided into regions bounded by concentric circles r = constant defined such that r 1 + r 2 differ by l ƒ 2 in going from one boundary to the next. These regions are called Fresnel zones or half-period zones. If z 1 and z 2 are sufficiently large compared to the size of the aperture the higher order terms of the expansion can be neglected to yield the following result.

Designing the optimal Fresnel lenses by using Zemax software

In this paper, the optimal Fresnel lenses are designed by Zemax software. The fundamental problem of the Fresnel lenses is the beam divergence, which wasresolved by decreeing the output stain diameter on the image plane. For this purpose, two types of radial and cylindrical Fresnel lenses are simulated with different groovesusing Global and Hammer optimization methods. The minimum output stain di...

Electrically switchable cylindrical Fresnel lens based on holographic polymer-dispersed liquid crystals using a Michelson interferometer

Fabricating an electrically switchable cylindrical Fresnel lens based on holographic polymer-dispersed liquid crystals (H-PDLC) using a Michelson interferometer is reported. Simplicity of the method and possibility of fabricating different focal length lenses in a single set up are among the advantages of the method. It is demonstrated that the Fresnel structured zone plate acts as a cylindrica...

On the Fresnel Sine Integral and the Convolution

The Fresnel sine integral S(x), the Fresnel cosine integral C(x), and the associated functions S + (x), S − (x), C + (x), and C − (x) are defined as locally summable functions on the real line. Some convolutions and neutrix convolutions of the Fresnel sine integral and its associated functions with x r + , x r are evaluated. 1. Introduction. The Fresnel integrals occur in the diffraction theory...

The effect of the Fresnel zone size on AVO analysis for stack data

Reflection energy from a linear reflector comes from an integrant over an aperture often described by the Fresnel zone. Within the Fresnel zone, the diffraction energy constructively builds the reflection energy. This paper uses diffraction theory to explain the reflector edge effect on amplitude and the amplitude variation within the Fresnel zone. Thus, discuss the Fresnel zone effect for AVO ...

Fresnel tomography: a novel approach to the wave function reconstruction based on Fresnel representation of tomograms

New type of tomographic probability distribution which contains complete information on the density matrix (wave function) related to the Fresnel transform of the complex wave function is introduced. Relation to symplectic tomographic probability distribution is elucidated. Multimode generalization of the Fresnel tomography is presented. Examples of applications of the present approach are give...
